Meet Sara Boccaccini Meadows

Sara Boccaccini Meadows is a British-born artist and illustrator based in Brooklyn, New York. Her work draws on her relationship to nature and explores the environmental contrast in urban and rural landscapes. She uses watercolor, gouache and acrylic to create quirky illustrations from wall murals to books. Sara has long been a supporter of climate action and women’s rights and is dedicated to using her art to make a difference.

DAY 01
Meet the Artist + Mocktails
Start your retreat with an evening of creativity, connection, and delicious flavors! Kick things off with a warm “Meet the Artist” session featuring Sara Boccaccini Meadows.
Sip on refreshing mocktails and nibble on light appetizers as Sara shares insight into her creative process and the techniques that will inspire your weekend.
Then, get hands-on with a "Paint by Numbers" interactive mural workshop, where you’ll bring color to the canvas in a fun and collaborative way. Wrap up the night with a forage-to-fork dining experience at Dandelion Restaurant, savoring locally inspired dishes that celebrate the season’s best flavors.
DAY 02
Yoga, Sketchbook Workshop, Wildflower Foraging Walk and Botanical Painting
Begin your day with a refreshing yoga session, awakening your body, calming your mind, and setting the stage for a day of creativity. Next, dive into a hands-on sketchbook workshop, where you’ll experiment with watercolor and gouache to capture the rich colors and organic shapes of Eastwind’s natural surroundings.
After a leisurely picnic lunch, we’ll embark on a guided foraging walk, seeking out native wildflowers that will inspire the afternoon’s botanical painting workshop. Under Sara’s expert guidance, you’ll learn delicate techniques to translate these foraged blooms onto paper, preserving their fleeting beauty through intricate brushwork and color.
DAY 03
Poolside Painting - Focus on Landscape
On the final day, we’ll come together poolside, immersed in the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding landscapes. With paints and brushes in hand, you’ll be guided in capturing the essence of nature—from rolling hills to vibrant skies.
Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned artist, this landscape session will refine your skills while allowing you to fully embrace the tranquility of your surroundings.

How do I get to the hotel without a car?
Eastwind Oliverea Valley is easily accessible from several Metro-North train stations, including Rhinecliff, Poughkeepsie, and Beacon. For a seamless journey, taxis can be booked in advance from any of these stations to bring you directly to Oliverea Valley.
